Bottom Plates

Posted by: admin    in Building Tesha

The bottom plates got dropped facilitate alignment of keel beam. Now with the side plates tacked on, everything seems to be in alignment and the bottom plates will be tacked back on.  Progress continues.  I’m so excited (nervous too)!

Tack Welding

Tacking welding continues on the frame.  The side and deck plates are also being tack welded into place to help keep alignment.  Stringers are going in.  The rear mast step has been welded to the keel.

Elliot’s Shop

Posted by: admin    in Building Tesha

Ross, my brother came out to help this weekend.  We ended up at Elliot’s wood shop below his house most of Saturday morning, planning boards for the hatch tops.  I also got all the edges rabbeted for hatch A.   Took 4 batteries for the router. :)

Deck welding has started as well as the cap rails.  Everything seems to be in alignment and I’m extremely happy with the progress that Yachsmiths and Brian’s crew has made thus far.

Hatch Frames

Posted by: admin    in Building Tesha

Finally finished making the frames for the hatches.  Cutting joins with a skill saw was a bit tedious.  Next time, I would just peg all the crossbars.  Now I can sand them up a bit and start on the tops.
