Canadian Build Crew

Did some touch up varnishing today and received a YachtSmith’s photo of the Canadian build crew, all wearing Ross’ Schooner Tesha Build Crew t-shirts.  Ross is going to design a thong next.  :)

Rudder Pics

Last round of varnish on the skylight hatches and davit.  Going to re-varnish parts of the boarding ladder where I cut the groves.    YachtSmiths has started the rudder and it looks like the bollard is complete.

Sixth coat of varnish!  1 more to go.  Decided to groove the edges of the boarding ladder to hold a rope.  Cut that today.

Was out on a business trip to San Francisco this weekend and got to tour the Tall ship Balclutha and see the beautiful 86ft Schooner Laiulani from the dock.

Bowsprit

Posted by: admin    in Building Tesha

More bowsprit photos today.  Not a lot of hull work was done the last month or so.   The welder John had gotten sick, but is doing better now.  Wish him the best of course.  Applied second coat of varnish (with loads of foam brush chunks. Suck.)

Amy came by today and together we applied the first coat of varnish to the skylights, pin rails, belay pins, boarding ladder, boson’s chair, lizards and davit board.  3 hours under the brush.

2nd Skylight Hatch

Posted by: admin    in Building Tesha

Didn’t have tons of time today, but started to cut the 2nd skylight/hatch lid for the Plexiglas.  Finally got a jig together that works well, but uses most of my clamps!  Got an email today from Brian at Yachtsmiths.  The final hull weld is 2/3s done.  The external hull welds have been tested and the bowsprit bollard is being welded up and on.
