Half Done Rudder

Posted by: TBurnett    in Building Tesha

Got a progress report from Yachtsmiths today.  The hull weld and bowsprit are complete.  Yea!  A major milestone in my mind.  The rudder is about half done and a contract for the rudder bearing has been made.  Work has begun on the cabin tops.  I ordered 600ft of 3/8″ New England Classic Polyester line from the Oyster Bay Marine Center.  Time to practice my splicing.

Major Varnishing

Posted by: TBurnett    in Building Tesha

Last month Amy and I finished a major round of varnishing, so we cleaned up the storage shed and packed the finished pieces away.  The hatches would no longer close though, so I had to use the dremel to grind down the lid lips a little.  Will have to re-varnish.

Heading for China

Posted by: TBurnett    in Building Tesha

I’ll be in China touring around and climbing this month.  Yachsmiths will continue work on the hull, but I’m taking a break. :)
