The last two weeks have been rather slow. No welding has been done on the boat and the weather here was too cold for me to hang out in my storage shed. Did get the acrylic put in the second hatch, the cowl vents on the dorade boxes, and bought a nice piece of mahgony for the bowsprit steps, but that is about it. Sails are supposed to be delivered this next week.

The blocks, at least the 5/8″ blocks, are done. Ross, Amy and I put the last few together this weekend. Ross finished soaking and flipping the last of the doubles this week while I was on a business trip. That was a big help as I really wanted to have them done by weekend. Finialized the sail order with Far East Sails this week as well, so I should be getting those in about a month. And YachtSmiths has been updated with a list of ~20 small welding tasks for the boat. Onto the bowsprit steps…

I’ve only got 6 more blocks to go. All the doubles with beckets. Whoo hooo! Been exprimenting with grommets. I haven’t been too pleased with the grommets I have been making via taking a single strand of a 3 strand polyester line and looping it back on itself. While I’ve gotten better at it, the last couple of grommets I splice and they look much better, and probably stronger too.
I also glued in on the plexiglass windows into a skylight. However, I was not feeling well and left the backing on. The next day, still sick, I went back to the storage and removed all the backing paper I could around the edges with a dental tool. Two hours later I was still feeling bad…
