Boat Mover Work

Posted by: TBurnett    in Building Tesha

YachtSmiths is going to modify their boat mover to be pulled via a truck instead of a backhoe. This should make it easier and cheaper to move the boat in and out of the water.

I worked on the dingy thwart cleats and made the deck for the forward watertight compartment. Another slow week.

The pictures are of the spars being welded.

Not Much

Posted by: TBurnett    in Building Tesha

Not much went on with SV Tesha this week. Weather has been too cold and wet for me to hang out in the garage. However, I did clean and grease the winchs for our 23′ sailboat and I continued making cleats for the dingy. Amy and I also made a template for the foreward dingy seat.

I did work on a model of the capstan/placement. I had orginally picked out a Lewmar Sprint 3000 but apparently it has been discontinued. The Lewmar C4 capstan I believe will work great. I just need to verify that the drive motor can be attached vertically.

The pictures are of Ryan and I installing the exhaust system for the Volvo D2-75. Waterblock, U-Bend and waterlock. We measured out our exhaust hose perfectly.
